Nominees must have demonstrated leadership/advocacy on behalf of quality K-12 programs in health education, physical education, recreation and/or dance in their district.

Criteria for the award:

• Demonstrated significant support in one or more of the following areas as it relates to quality health education, physical education, recreation and/or  dance programs: curriculum development, utilization of technology, program innovation, staff development, program improvement and/or resource development.
• Continuously inspired and modeled to students, parents, teachers, staff and administrators with his/her commitment to quality health education, physical education, recreation and/or dance programs.
• If eligible for NYS AHPERD membership, their membership must be
• current.
