About Us
Our Zone is made up of members living and/or working in Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. We host monthly meetings from September through May and a local conference in the spring. We invite you to join us and become a part of a diverse and robust organization that continually works to enhance our members knowledge and skills, ensuring their students have the highest quality health and physical education programs possible.

Central Western Zone Zone recognizes talented, dedicated professionals in our local area each year with the Central Western Zone Teacher of the Year Awards. The recipients are acknowledged for their achievement at the Annual CWZ Mini-Conference.

Grants & Scholarships
Central Western Zone offers grants for professional and future professionals members of the CWZ. Grants are available to support conference attendance or equipment purchases intended to enhance health and physical education programs.

Awards
Student Leadership Awards
Each spring, professional members of Central Western Zone of NYS AHPERD, are given the opportunity to nominate one boy and one girl at the commencement level class in their building as the New York State Association of Health Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Outstanding Physical Education Students. Each current CWZ NYS AHPERD member in the building may nominate a male and a female. Our members response to this award is essential to make this event successful and to recognize the deserving students.
A link to nominate your students will be emailed to current members each Spring.

Central Western Zone recognizes talented, dedicated professionals in our local area each year with the Central Western Zone Teacher of the Year Awards. The recipients are acknowledged for their achievement at the Annual CWZ Mini Conference.
Members are encouraged to nominate colleagues who conduct quality physical education or health program within our Zone. Awards include Elementary, Middle School, Secondary, Adapted and Health Teachers of the Year.

Professional Grants are available to current CWZ professional members to attend the NYS AHPERD Conference, SHAPE Conference, Speak Out Day, or for the purchase of equipment, etc.
